Handicrafts Global Day

June 10^th is the Global Day for Handicrafts and the Week for Handicrafts starts in Iran at the same date. There will be numerous exhibitions and bazaars to celebrate this week. In some cities, there are some seminars and conferences on handicrafts, each with a different objective in order to improve the status of handicraft artists (craft workers) and expand their market. Different Iranian tribes have always been famous throughout the world for their innovation and artistic taste in producing handicrafts.

Participation in Judging the “Award of Excellence for Handicrafts”

Isfahan/ Isfahan/ Early June

Level: International

Given its potentials and capacities in the area of handicrafts (in terms of variety and popularity among artists and craft workers), Isfahan Province has the highest number of international award of excellence for handicrafts. The Deputy of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts, according to the criteria presented by the Global Association of Handicrafts, and given its participation in UNESCO Award of Excellence for Handicrafts, is holding a program called the National Award of Excellence for Handicrafts since 2007. The arbitration for handicraft excellence is held biannually.

Special Conference for Registering Intangible Heritage is held by the Deputy of Cultural Heritage to investigate the cases for inscription in the National List of Heritages and provide new strategies for preserving them.

Niavaran Summer Festival include concerts, handicrafts festival, and exhibition of artefacts, starting from late June until late August.

Literary and Artistic Festival of Shahcheragh

Fars/ Shiraz/ June 23^rd to July 3^rd

The 2^nd Literary and Artistic Festival of Shahcheragh is held in 7 areas (poetry, story, photograph, graphic, film, calligraphy and urban elements) in order to pay respect to the cultural status of Shahcheragh Holy Shrine in Shiraz.
